Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Hours: Core hours are 8:00am – 5:00pm with the ability to flex as necessary. Additional days and hours could be required, especially during key external reporting periods. Business needs could result in an average 45 hour work week.
Role: The Accounting Rep II is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of the bank’s corporate accounts payable processing. There are various “back-up” responsibilities for the General Ledger Accounting group. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain a lot of exposure to the different facets of accounting as well as working alongside a team of individuals willing to assist in their growth and development.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Follows the Company’s established accounting policies and procedures
- Prepares journal entries along with the required back-up
- Performs balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of balance sheet and reduce the risk of financial misstatement or financial exposure
- Provides general ledger account analysis as requested
- Reviews purchase order requests and monitors expense invoices against purchase order approvals
- Provides support and back up to accounting department functions
- Conduct all interactions with internal and external customers in accordance with The CoreFirst Way
- Remains available for other special projects and/or new responsibilities, as assigned
- Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
- Generate reports detailing accounts payables status
- Understand expense accounts and cost centers
- Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)

Requirements
Experience:
- Two years of related work experience required; two years of accounting experience preferred
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required along with college level accounting classes
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business preferred
Skills & Abilities:
- Beginner Tier Microsoft Office - Excel skill (ability to write basic mathematical formulas, sum columns, countif, sumif, etc.); Beginner/Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office - Word
- Detail oriented with a high level of accountability for accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work and multi-task
- Ability to work independently and handle a heavy volume of work
- Strong initiative and independence in completing assignments
- Ability to resolve conflicts
- Adept listening, oral and written communication skills
- Takes Initiative/self-starter
- Ability to relate and empathize with people
