About the role

We are seeking a casual Field Research Coordinator that will be responsible for

  • Coordinating research participant recruitment & interview scheduling.
  • Conducting qualitative interviews in the Navajo language.
  • Acting as a liaison between the research team and tribal councils, Navajo community members, and the Navajo IRB.
  • Managing and carry out reporting duties to three tribal councils on behalf of the research team.
  • Interpreting the results of qualitative and quantitative data analyses.
  • Overseeing the process of seeking tribal council approvals and Navajo Nation Human Research Review Board (NNHRB) approval for this project.
  • Overseeing the quarterly reporting requirements set by the NNHRRB.
  • Coauthor on all reports and manuscripts submitted for publication.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in public health or related field.
  • Previous experience conducting research and field work in rural reservation settings.
  • Previous experience coordinating field research in tribal communities.
  • Previous experience seeking tribal approvals for research and reporting to the Navajo Nation Human Research Review Board.
  • Understanding/Fluency in Navajo culture, customs, and language.
