Custom Rug Fabrication Department Manager

We are currently seeking a Rug Fabrication Manager to join our Calhoun, GA, location, reporting to the VP of Operations. The Rug Fabrication Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of rug production, ensuring the timely creation of high-quality rugs while optimizing productivity, maintaining a safe work environment, and fostering a collaborative team. This role will drive continuous improvement in fabrication processes, manage inventory to meet demand, and develop a skilled workforce to exceed customer expectations.

Service:
• Ensure rugs are fabricated & shipped within quoted time frame.
• Monitor rug status to ensure we meet customer delivery expectations.
• Ensure (given the tools provided) that there is sufficient yarn inventory.

Quality:
• Ensure first quality rugs (size, shape, color, finishing, backing, product) fabricated in accordance with work order instructions.
• Review credit vs sales report monthly to understand areas of improvement.
• Work closely with dept leads & entire team to ensure continuous improvement.

Innovation/Process Improvement:
• Leverage experience & think creatively to improve service, quality, productivity, process, and safety.
• Ensure that supplies are on hand and sourced economically.

Productivity:
• Develop weekly KPI’s & meeting cadence to monitor progress.
• Ensure department has resources necessary to maximize productivity.
• Continuous daily, weekly, monthly, planning and forecasting to optimize resources and meet customer expectations.

Safety:
• Ensure that the work environment is safe and free of any hazards.
• Instill the importance of safety to all employees.
• Encourage suggestions that would make the department a safer place.
• Optimize housekeeping of the department at end of shift.
Leadership:
• Lead by example/Set the pace
• Develop employees for growth opportunities
• Develop positive, productive teamwork throughout the department.
• Develop KPI’s to hold team accountable for results.

Qualifications:
• Min 10 year experience managing large departments in a fabrication environment.
• Advanced knowledge of tufted & woven carpet constructions, how each is fabricated and installed.
• Strong analytical, written, and communication skills
• AS 400 and Microsoft suite experience.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
• Strong organizational & follow up skills.
• Willing to work in warm & cool environments.
• Ability to move up to 50 lbs.
• A sense of urgency in time-sensitive projects.
