- This Carpenter position will work on a team with other carpenters, electricians, and maintenance staff completing major repairs and some construction projects throughout our parks system.
Performs skilled work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of wooden articles, modern construction and repair materials, equipment, and structures.
Works under close to general supervision according to set procedures, but determines how or when to complete tasks.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires two (2) years experience in construction and/or maintenance carpentry or closely related experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses
Possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver's License with authority to drive a county vehicle for duration of appointment.
Preferences
- Graduation from an accredited Finish Carpentry Vocational School
- Certified Welder
- CDL A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
- OSHA Safety Certificate (General, Construction)
- At least three years of experience reading and building top specifications off of blue prints or technical drawings
- At least three years working with the Florida Building Code and complying with its standards and regulations
- Two years of experience in drafting software
- Mechanical Journey Level/Certificate of Competency
- Ability to speak foreign language (Spanish, French/Creole)
