Job Description

In this role the Quality Team Manager will lead the Quality Technicians in daily operations in Fairport Harbor (FPT) including floor support and testing requirements. The key responsibilities include management of the HOLD accrual process and disposition, completing all testing as required or leading quarantining efforts as needed as a result of poor quality. In addition this person and the team will lead and track all calibrations required by ISO 9001:2015. The Quality Team Manager is a highly motivated problem solver that has the ability to lead cross functional teams, drive results through execution of their team. This role will work closely with the broader divisional quality organization in Graphics, site operations, engineering and supply chain to ensure business success in a leading company where individual and team success are recognized and rewarded.

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead, coach and develop quality team members to achieve peak performance
  • Lead the HOLD Accrual process including reporting, metrics, tracking and daily support of operations to meet production needs with support of the quality team
  • Reduce the occurrence of HOLD rolls by leading and facilitating cross functional root cause problem solving
  • Lead and track the Critical to Quality (CTQ) audit process with support of the quality team to ensure critical KPI’s are inputs are tracked and understood
  • Develop and improve the off machine inspection and testing plan, and manage inspections, lab testing and calibrations with support of the quality team
  • Manage FPT’s quality feedback as part of the offload process including leading intra-site meetings, sample feedback and reporting tools for critical quality metrics
  • Lead daily Tier 2 Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) and weekly Quality Tier 1 Meeting for Weekly Improvement (MWI) process and support quality related actions and key metrics
  • Support customer corrective action requests implementing countermeasures to prevent recurrence
  • Establish and assess quality testing standards and required frequencies based on risk and product requirements.
  • Ensure proper staffing, cross training and support is provided for all hourly lab positions and related activities including daily aged testing, creation of GO/ NO GO standards for production etc.
  • Manage the Material Return process from customers to receive back into plan inventory
  • Support Management goals, directives, and initiatives to improve plant Quality and compliance to standards/regulation
  • Lead site focused projects and coach others in managing these projects to improve site quality
  • Perform other tasks or project work as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5+ years manufacturing experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Actively seeks knowledge, skills and experience in order to grow and develop
  • Good trouble-shooting/problem-solving and mechanical ability
  • Achieves goals with minimal direction
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving experience
  • Demonstrated leadership capability including prior experience with direct report or ability to influence without authority<
