About the role

Mission Summary

The primary purpose of the Safety Training Manager is to develop and implement effective safety training programs to address the specific safety needs and requirements of the organization. The Safety Training Manager will regularly evaluate the effectiveness of training programs by gathering feedback, tracking metrics, and conducting training assessments to measure the effectiveness of training programs. They will be responsible for promoting a culture of safety within the organization by providing employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively perform their job duties. The Safety Training Manager will play an integral role in supporting Motional's Safety Management System (SMS). 

The Motional Las Vegas office is located less than 10 miles from the Las Vegas strip at 730 E Pilot Road, the Las Vegas office is home to one of the largest fleets of self-driving vehicles. The city’s grid system of roads and being one of America’s “smart cities” allows for extensive research and development testing.  

What you'll be doing:

  • Oversees the daily operations of training specialists responsible for curriculum development and training delivery in alignment with training objectives and timelines
  • Identifies future training needs and requirements for operations department in alignment with the organization’s goals and requirements
  • Analyzes required job-role competencies to identify performance gaps and deficiencies in training materials, aiming to enhance performance, achieve targeted learning outcomes, maintain safety, and support knowledge retention
  • Implements and maintains a change management program to maintain alignment with technological changes, organizational requirements or changes, and industry standards and best practices
  • Monitors projects and manages the team to ensure that training goals and objectives, key results, KPIs, etc. are met
  • Effectively communicates with management, program stakeholders, project team members, subject matter experts, and others to ensure all training needs are addressed
  • Conducts or facilitates training sessions
  • Able to travel domestically
  • Other duties as assigned

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience as a training manager or professional educator; at least 5 years of experience in L&D, technical training, or other related field
  • At least 2 years of people management experience
  • Thorough understanding of training processes; familiarity with training methods and modalities such as mentoring, coaching, on the job training, in classroom instruction, e-learning, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design principles, learning solutions, and adult learning theories (such as the ADDIE model, Kirkpatrick model, Maslow’s hierarchy, etc.)
  • Strong, detail oriented organization skills
  • Proficient with Google suite, instructional design tools, and learning management systems

  •   Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred

Salary Range$73,000—$95,500 USD
