HVAC Maintenance Tech - Facilities

This position is primarily responsible for providing technical troubleshooting and programming building automation systems, schedules, system program language for proper sequences of control on HVAC systems. The scope of the work includes residential HVAC repairs and replacements as needed, as well as maintaining and auditing Plant Operations energy management systems. Additional duties include various handyman duties throughout the community.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), three (3) to five (5) years of general maintenance and multiple phases of HVAC experience.
• North Carolina Freon certification required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience as a skilled refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic.
• Successful completion of maintenance and/or trade school training classes on digital control systems.
• Preferred six years’ experience with at least three of the following control system brands: Allerton, KMC, Johnson, Honeywell, Trane Tracer, Carrier and Delta.
• Incumbent should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
• Possess high-quality verbal and written communication ability, strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Must be proficient in the use of power and hand tools and be knowledgeable on state and federal building codes.
