About the role

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Project Manager – Rail/TFL to join our dynamic Eastern & Southern team in London. 37.5 hrs per week, hybrid working with an expectation of being in the office/site 4 days a week.

 

In this role, you will you will manage and deliver small to medium sized multidisciplinary contracts, safely on the TfL IIF Framework & other projects within Amey in accordance with legislation and Amey procedures to contract specification and programme, while building and sustaining long term customer relationships in accordance with the project relationship matrix.

 

This role offers you the unique opportunity to work with one of the three Transport for London’s main contractors on the infrastructure improvements framework covering multidisciplinary functions across rail - i.e. Civils, Track, Buildings, Power etc.

 

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Creating Project / Programme Brief, Plan on a Page (PoaP) Project Initiation Document (PID), Communication Plan and Project Quality Plan.
  • Set and monitor objectives for direct reports including regular 1-1s 
  • Documenting critical success factors, project acceptance criteria and customer quality expectations 
  • Ensuring logs are set up for managing and tracking issues, risks, decisions and lessons learned 
  • Overseeing quality control throughout the project cycle  
  • Ensuring that the engagement of any third-party project resources is managed in accordance with Amey procedures and policies 
  • Ensuring project compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental and other appropriate regulations 
  • Forecasting and monitoring the financial performance of the project, giving regular (minimum monthly) reports, comparing actual and forecast performance to plan and explaining variations.
  • Coordinating post-project reviews 
  • Documenting any relevant case studies, follow-on actions and recommendations 

 that can be used to support future bids.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Project Management experience ideally from a multidisciplinary Construction Environment
  • Good knowledge of the Railway/Trams Operating Environment – Desirable
  • Understanding of the Design Process
  • Previous experience managing projects of £250k +
  • Strong financial acumen and a history of successfully managing budgets
