The Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) is an Acquisition Category II spiral development program that incorporates and adapts a variety of Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government-Off-the-Shelf hardware and software. ADNS is the Tactical Internet Protocol (IP) Routing and Switching system for all Wide Area Network IP Services which connect afloat units to the various global shore sites. It provides ship and shore IP connectivity and promotes the efficient use of available satellite and line of site communications bandwidth. SOLUTE, a Sigma Defense Company is seeking a self-directed and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Network Engineer to help engage in converging all voice, video, data communications between ship and shore. The primary duties and responsibilities for this position, minimum required skills, and additional requested qualifications and experience are listed below.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Network Engineering.
- Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in DoD or other Government Unclassified and Classified Systems/Networks.
- A minimum of 3-6 years of experience with Cisco Routing and Switching, Network Engineering, and Network Testing and Implementation planning.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with Cisco configuration of OSPF and static routing, mGRE Tunnel, QOS, DHCP, ACLs, IPSec (as implemented with HAIPE devices.)
- Effective Testing and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity.
- Ability to work with Network related hardware and software.
- Ability to conduct research on Cisco or other related Network hardware components.
- Ability to conduct testing and regression testing on Government facilities.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite Products, and PC hardware architecture.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, with managers, supervisor, peers, and customers.
- Ability to work collaboratively, independently, and to take initiative.
- Ability to quickly grasp and implement technical concepts.

- Network Engineering experience with ADNS, CANES, or CaaS Is preferred.
- An understanding of network security best practices
- An understanding of the use and configuration of encryption devices (KG-175D, KG-175F, KG-175GM)
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision on assigned tasks.
