Job Summary
Primary retail customer representative for Van Millwork, responsible for delivering superior customer service with speed, discipline, and accuracy through knowledge and experience.
General Accountabilities
Owns retail counter experience and all associated tasks:Open/close retail drawerGreet retail customers and offer assistance in a pleasant and timely mannerAssist customers at the retail counter including but not limited to questions; quotes, orders, returns, via retail register ordersQuotes & orders to be reviewed by order control prior to production Brings order paperwork to the floor for pick up orders or to the Production Coordinator to distribute paperwork for small truck/house deliveriesPrint and verify accuracy of the open order reports for retailMaintain the file system of invoice ordersMaintain customer service area including re-stocking of trim samples and product literatureMaintains special order fileAnswer all incoming phone calls to main company line promptly with good phone manner:Assist retail customers with phone orders and questionsRoute other calls to the appropriate partyBack up/support for Inside Sales reps as needed:Provide overflow support during busy months for take-off entry and other tasks for your assigned I/S personCover for assigned I/S person during vacations / time-offSpecial Projects as assigned Job Qualifications
Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience in the building materials industry, preferably in millworkKnowledge of millwork, building materials and / or the home building process a plusStrong “customer first” mindsetPositive, friendly and pleasant manner a must
Skills/Traits
Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office, familiarity with a building materials ERP system (BisTrack, Spruce, DSMI, etc.), experience with Ponderosa a plusExcellent organization and time management skillsAbility to troubleshoot and solve problems while maintaining positive, friendly demeanorFriendly and approachable manner, superior people skillsAble to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
