Abbeville Process Technician

<p>Position:            Process Technician   </p><p>Function:             E&amp;I</p><p>FSLA:                     Non-Exempt</p><p>Reports to:          Engineering Manager</p><p></p><p><u>Brief Summary of Primary Duties:</u></p><ul><li>To be an agent of change with a metric driven focus with performance above anything else!</li><li>Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators, such as scrap, defects, downtime, and machine performance with the intent of optimizing the process.</li><li>Maintain all process guidelines or Facility Documents with all current and new optimizations.</li><li>Evaluate and recommend new equipment for all phases of processing.</li><li>Commission all new equipment installed for manufacturing.</li><li>Provide the R&amp;D function with required assistance during product development.</li><li>Lead and manage people in the absence of area manager with the ambition of promotion and openness to take on new challenges outside of a normal technician’s scope of work.</li></ul><p><u>Specific Skills/Training Required</u></p><ul><li>Lean Training and experience in Lean Manufacturing a plus</li><li>SPC knowledge a plus</li><li>Extrusion knowledge a plus</li><li>Computer literate including mobile devices</li><li>Basic mechanical and electrical skills</li><li>Must be an agent of change with a strong desire to succeed!</li></ul><p><u>Education:</u></p><ul><li>High School/GED Diploma</li><li>Experience in Extrusion manufacturing environment</li></ul><p><u>Experience:</u></p><ul><li>Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required</li></ul><p><u>Safety Requirements/Physical Requirements:</u></p><ul><li>Must follow plant safety regulations</li><li>Visual requirements - ability to read instructional documents</li><li>Ability to stand and walk 4-6 hours on concrete during a 9+ hour day</li><li>Ability to sit 4-6 hours per 9+/hr shift performing desk work</li><li>Ability to bend/stoop to floor level several times per day.</li><li>Ability to climb and descend 50 stairs several times per day</li><li>Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.</li><li>Ability to push, pull reels of cable weighting 4-8M pounds on occasion.</li></ul><p>*Prysmian will grant reasonable accommodations for any disability.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Prysmian Group, as an Equal Opportunity Employer, aims to attract and recruit individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills, and abilities.
