Job Overview:

LPL Financial is seeking a Vice President, Data Services to lead our Reference Aata Master team within the Data & Analytics organization. This role is ideal for a seasoned technical leader with deep expertise in party reference data management, cloud-native architectures, and enterprise data engineering. You will be responsible for driving the strategy, design, and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality party data solutions that support critical business functions including client onboarding, KYC/AML, regulatory reporting, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Party Referenced data team, providing strategic direction, technical leadership, and mentorship to senior developers and data engineers.

  • Architect and implement cloud-native party data platforms using AWS services (e.g., Glue, Lambda, Event Bridge, S3, RDS, MSK).

  • Modernize legacy party data systems, leading the migration from on-premises to scalable, cloud-based solutions.

  • Integrate and manage third-party data providers, including S&P Global’s Markit, Dun & Bradstreet, and other KYC/AML data sources, ensuring accurate and timely ingestion and enrichment of party data.

  • Design and maintain robust data models for party entities such as clients, counterparties, issuers, and legal entities.

  • Establish data quality and governance frameworks, including validation, deduplication, survivorship, and lineage tracking.

  • Develop APIs and data services to deliver party data to downstream systems including CRM, trading, compliance, and reporting platforms.

  • Ensure platform observability and resilience, implementing monitoring, alerting, and self-healing capabilities.

  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and security teams to ensure compliance with data privacy, regulatory, and cybersecurity standards.

  • Engage with business stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable business solutions.

  • Drive continuous improvement, evaluating emerging technologies and best practices in data mastering, identity resolution, and cloud engineering.

  • Participate in Agile delivery processes, managing epics, stories, and sprint planning using Jira and related tools.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, or cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on party or entity reference data.

  • 5+ years in a leadership role, managing technical teams and delivering enterprise-scale data solutions.

  • Expertise in AWS services, including Glue, Lambda, EventBridge, S3, RDS (Aurora/Postgres), and MSK/Kinesis.

  • Strong experience with data mastering, identity resolution, and golden record creation for party data.

  • Proficiency with relational and cloud-native databases, such as Snowflake, Aurora, Postgres, and MSSQL.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform), and DevOps practices.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across technical and business teams.

  • AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
