VP Site Leader, Manufacturing Operations - McPherson, KS

The PGS Site Leader provides leadership, strategic direction, and tactical oversight to the facility, in alignment with the PGS Fundamental Value Proposition. This includes all production operations and the related support functions directly or indirectly (Operations, Utilities & Maintenance, Engineering & Technical support, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain/Warehousing, Finance, Procurement, Site transformation/OE).
Primary accountabilities include developing and executing operating plans that lead to the achievement of the site’s mission; serving our patients through ensuring quality medicines are available when needed, creating/maintaining a culture that ensures every colleague feels seen, heard and cared for, keeping our colleagues safe through a strong culture that values the safety of each and every colleague, making effective financial and operational decisions to positively impact the short and long-term plans of the site commercial goals of the products being manufactured at the site; developing and maintaining an engaged, diverse, competitive organization through effective organizational design, workforce planning, leadership and talent development. Related accountabilities include external stakeholder management, objective setting, training, and performance management. Maintaining top performance at the site in all balanced scorecard metrics, utilizing our IMEx governance processes.
• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the site.
• Develop and execute operating plans that lead to the achievement of the site and product goals.
• Provide direction and leadership for all site operations including but not limited to:
Manufacturing, Quality Operations, EHS, Supply Chain/Logistics, Product and Process Technology, Strategic Planning, Launch Excellence, Operational Excellence, and Engineering.
• Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including but not limited to other areas within the Pfizer supply network, external suppliers, local community and political entities, colleagues, and legal organizations.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain a diverse and effective organization through effective selection, training, leadership, development and management.
• Support and foster operational excellence across all functions – through Integrated Manufacturing Excellence – IMEx – implementation and ongoing maturity assessments, and Continuous Improvement
• Assume leadership responsibilities on network initiatives that drive results across the C5 Cluster, SBO OpU, and PGS
• Support PC1 businesses by engaging in product assessments, and completing projects on time and to the same standards as Pfizer products.
• Continually evaluate best in class, technology, processes, and talent to ensure optimal supply to our patients and agile support of changing commercial strategies.
• Ensure ethics and integrity through strict adherence to compliance guidance and risk management principles.
• Support strategic acquisitions and/or partnerships as required.
• Make effective financial and operational decisions to positively impact both short and long-term site goals,
• Create, establish and maintain an environment that supports our diverse team of colleagues, and encourages teamwork and empowerment.
• Represent the site and Company in the local community.
Technical:
Must have experience working in pharmaceutical manufacturing in sterile injectable operations.
Experience in Aseptic Operations is highly desirable.
Additional experience in related fields is desirable (Supply Chain, EHS, Quality, Engineering)
Strong financial and business acumen
Education:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, or a related technical or business discipline
Master's degree preferred
Experience:
At least 15 years directly related experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, including at least five years of experience leading a major manufacturing or quality operations function in a manufacturing plant. Experience with a multi-national company is preferred.
Strong understanding of cGMPs, specifically aseptic manufacturing and demonstrated success leading GMP-compliant operations and interacting with regulators.
Knowledgeable of FDA compliance regulations
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated aptitude and attitude to drive cultural initiatives such as EHS advancement, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Ability to understand and utilize financial analyses to make good decisions in a manufacturing environment.
