About the role
Job Description Summary
The Europe SMR Execution Leader will be responsible for the overall execution of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) projects in Poland, and ultimately across Europe. They will be responsible for the full lifecycle execution of SMR deployment, from final project planning and licensing through to construction, commissioning and handover operations. They will ensure Customer satisfaction through the management of project related activities and resources. They will work across the project(s) stakeholders and customers to provide strong ongoing portfolio management, ensuring our focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost, in that order.The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of infrastructure project execution in highly regulated industries (ideally nuclear, energy, or large-scale infrastructure) and bring a proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary project teams, navigating local regulatory and stakeholder landscapes, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Leadership and Governance
- Serve as the region executive for all SMR project execution activities in Poland, and ultimately across Europe as the project portfolio grows.
- Establish and lead the project execution organization, including engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), quality assurance, safety, and commissioning functions.
- Full P&L responsibility of the projects: responsible of the forecasts, cash management, revenue, margin, risk management and invoicing and revenue for the projects.
- Role is responsible for all aspects of project execution including safety, quality, OTD and customer satisfaction
- Serve as Executive level customer face and escalation point on execution
- Strong understanding of all disciplines' processes (Engineering, Sourcing, Construction, Commissioning, etc.) and translate them into execution.
- Owns the project and takes full accountability for the outcome. Inspires and empowers functional project leaders to take ownership of their own work packages and deliverables.
Project Management
- Ensure alignment of the Polish execution plan (and ultimately broader Europe execution plans) with the overall global SMR program strategy and objectives.
- Will need to Integrate foundational knowledge of project execution disciplines (scheduling, plant design, construction, cost, EHS, etc.) in order to forecast potential issues, make sound judgements and define the right execution strategy at a portfolio level.
- Comprehensive understanding of the market, customer behavior and Project execution in GEV Way
- Understand the Performance risk ahead of time
- Promotes and imposes GE’s Safety Toolkit and overall EHS standards on project team, partner and subcontractor
- Acts as line of escalation for customer issues, understanding the underlying dynamics and balancing the perspectives of GE, the PM and customer + ability to resolve customer issues
Regulatory & Licensing
- Work closely with legal and regulatory affairs teams to ensure timely submission and approval of all licensing and permitting documents
- Maintain continuous engagement with Polish nuclear authorities and comply with EU nuclear and environmental standards.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Will need to partner with the SMR Commercial Leader for Europe to build strong relationships with key decision makers and other leaders at multiple levels within customer organization including C-Suite relationships.
- Tactfully uses network and navigates within the organization to successfully remove obstacles and clarify misunderstandings.
- Apply synergies, lessons learned and best practices across large scale specific customer/ country/ partner
- Prioritization of issues and escalation to SLT
- Partner with Functional Leads to monitor progress and mitigate risks
- This leader will need to demonstrate respect and confidence in disagreeing with and/or influencing senior leadership to ensure best results for GEV.
Team Development
- Build and mentor a high-performing local project team, promoting a culture of safety, integrity and excellence.
- Collaborate with global SMR teams and knowledge centers to ensure best practices and lessons learned are applied.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Nuclear Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive years of progressive experience in major project execution in the nuclear, energy, or infrastructure sectors (knowledge level is equivalent to 10+ years of experience).
