Technical Program Manager (Direct-to-Consumer Streaming)

Tennis Channel seeks a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead the development and scaling of its direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming platform. This role will oversee cross-functional programs spanning CRM, authentication, payment services/billing, video streaming, customer data platforms (CDP), and app development across iOS, Android, connected TVs (e.g., Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV), and web. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless integration of core technical systems while driving innovation to enhance user engagement and platform reliability.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Program Management
   • Lead the development lifecycle of the DTC streaming service, including feature rollouts, third-party integrations (e.g., 3rd Party OTT solutions), and platform optimizations for scalability.
   • Coordinate with engineering, product, and marketing teams to align technical execution with business goals, such as subscriber growth and retention.
2. Core Functional Integration
   • CRM & CDP: Design systems to unify customer data, enabling personalized experiences and targeted marketing campaigns.
   • Authentication & Payment Services: Implement secure user authentication (e.g., MVPD integration for cable subscribers) and manage recurring billing systems (e.g., $9.99/month or $109.99/year subscription models).
   • Video Streaming: Collaborate with 3rd party vendors to ensure high-quality video encoding, multi-court live streaming, and on-demand content delivery.
3. Platform Development
   • Oversee app development for connected TVs (Samsung, Roku, Apple TV) and mobile/web platforms, ensuring feature parity and performance optimization.
   • Address technical debt and drive initiatives to improve app stability, load times, and user interface (UI/UX).
4. Stakeholder Collaboration
   • Partner with external vendors and internal teams to align priorities and resolve dependencies.
   • Communicate program status to executives, including risks, milestones, and resource needs.
5. Innovation & Compliance
   • Pilot emerging technologies (e.g., AI-driven personalization, dynamic ad insertion) to enhance viewer experiences.
   • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and payment security standards (e.g., PCI-DSS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred
• 5+ years in technical program management, preferably in OTT/streaming, SaaS, or digital media
• Proficiency in APIs, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), and agile methodologies
• Familiarity with video streaming protocols (HLS/DASH), CDPs (e.g., Segment), and payment gateways
• Strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Tennis Channel’s ecosystem (e.g., Tennis Channel Plus, international FAST channels)
• Knowledge of subscription economics and DTC growth strategies
• Background in sports media, with an understanding of live event production and fan engagement
