Childcare Teacher (Full-Time)

We are looking for a caring and energetic Childcare Teacher to join our childcare team. This individual will contribute to a positive, nurturing environment that is safe, clean and organized for the children between the ages of 6 weeks and 6 years. A Childcare Teacher will also encourage children’s overall development through appropriate play-based activities and by working collaboratively with families.

This position is available at our location in Johnston.

• Provide routine care for infants and/or children including diaper changing/assistance with personal cares, hygiene and hand washing, serving meals and snacks.
• Maintain children's safety by providing constant supervision in compliance with staff/child ratio requirements and utilizing name to face attendance log.  
• Consistently assess and monitor children’s general health and report concerns to supervisor and family as appropriate.  
• Complete tasks to maintain a clean, organized and safe environment indoors and outdoors.
• Maintain and support a structured environment and routine according to Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports strategies.
• Provide exceptional customer service to families. 
• Documentation - Complete documentation accurately and according to established deadlines.
• Arrive on time and attend assigned training sessions, staff meetings and annual staff development training.

• Ability to pass a ChildServe physical examination at commencement of employment and thereafter as regulations require.
• Ability to lift up to 35lbs, be mobile within the classroom and playground areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to become certified in First Aide, CPR, Mandatory Reporter, Standard Precautions and DHS Pre-Service Essential training within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
• Experience providing care and supervision for children preferred.
