What you will be doing

Join our team at our client's new mail order pharmacy facility in Wyomissing, PA.

The pharmacy will specialize in prescription home delivery and central fill services utilizing advanced automation technology. It will be a pivotal hub driving the growth of our pharmacy operations regionally.

As a Pharmacy Buyer, you will play a crucial role in managing drug inventory for our dispensing robots, overseeing shipping and receiving, and ensuring efficient logistics.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute knowledge and be part of setup of the new mail order pharmacy inventory system.
  • Supply and drug inventory management for all pharmacy operations including automated dispensing systems.
  • Management of shipping and receiving processes, including cold chain logistics for temperature-sensitive medications.
  • Coordinate with internal and third-party logistics vendors for timely order pickup and delivery.
  • Submit and receive daily inventory purchase orders via pharmacy management and automation software.
  • Place stock in designated areas.
  • Utilize industry best practices for stock rotation and reverse logistics.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze inventory trends, demand forecasting, and supply chain metrics to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste.


What your background should look like 

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE ,AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of best practices in supply chain logistics, including inventory turnover, order fulfillment, and distribution.

  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and processes, particularly in a dynamic and evolving environment.

  • In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical products, including generic and brand names, therapeutic classes, and federal and state regulations.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and documentation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with vendors, pharmacists, and other team members.

  • Ability to prepare and present reports to management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.

  • Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods throughout the day.

  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires broad training in fields such as medical office administration, pharmacy purchasing, or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of associate’s degree program, pharmacy technician certification, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires one (1) to two (2) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.

  • Knowledge of purchasing and contracting policies, laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Competent use of the pharmacy information system.
