NeoGenomics is looking for a Biomedical Technician based out of our lab in Houston, TX who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This position will work at Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm shift. Position Summary: The biomedical equipment technician role is responsible for all aspects of the installation, maintenance, and repair of biomedical equipment throughout the laboratory. Utilizing a work order system the technician will perform planned maintenance, repairs, and electrical safety checks on a multitude of devices and maintain documentation showing compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Core Responsibilities:
- Complete PM, repairs, and installation qualifications as assigned
- Calibrating, operating, and troubleshooting equipment
- Inspect new laboratory equipment for safe installation and operation
- Assist laboratory professionals in good equipment practices
- Maintain good documenting practices on all equipment maintenance and repairs
- Maintain continuing education on all appropriate equipment and testing devices
- Effectively communicates all maintenance or building related events to affected personnel
- Provide operational knowledge to staff to improve the use of biomedical equipment
- Identify trends, unusual activity, and repeated activity and report to management to assist in continuously improving the department
- Make recommendations to department leadership for product or system improvements, including procedural steps, additional training, and/or documentation enhancements
- Attend trainings to expand devices you are capable of repairing, PM, and calibrate.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering preferred
- Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES) certifications a plus
- 3+ years’ experience in a related field within a Hospital or Laboratory setting with degree
- 5+ years’ experience in a related field within a Hospital or Laboratory setting w/o degree
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to execute projects systematically
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
