JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting Technician will perform duties required to assist the Accounting Manager. The position will perform reconciliations, run weekly and monthly reports, timecard entries, process shop purchase orders for accounts payable invoices, and enter those invoices through the company’s software
.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare electronic entry of daily timecards from mechanics and scan timecard documents
- Prepare purchase order receiving and invoice entry.
- Prepare weekly recurring transactions for jobs.
- Assist with equipment setup and location tracking.
- Assist with daily reconciliation of data entry information.
- Maintain fuel log tracking sheet.
- Maintain equipment list.
- Maintain monthly reconciliation of core tracking and core credit tracking.
- Maintain paper and electronic filing according to company filing plan.
- Assist with general office duties to include making copies, scanning documents, and processing mail.
- Assist in preparation of additional workpapers as requested.
- Effectively communicate with accountants, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Strong working knowledge of excel.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with employees, business partners, and clients via written and verbal communication methods.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in computerized accounting systems and knowledge of company-specific software. Proficiency in standard computer software, application programs and e-mail. Typing 45 wpm and 10-key by touch.
- Ability to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment.
- Advanced computer skills are required for this position.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Strong working ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs using excel.
- Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve problems and concepts, and make decisions based on available information. Ability to use judgment and discretion.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively plan and organize duties to meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to work with concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Minimum of one year of accounting or related field experience.
- Minimum of one year direct relevant experience working for a large company or a construction company.
- General Ledger experience preferred.
- Experience with Spectrum Viewpoint preferred.
- Ability to pass a drug, background, and credit check.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
