Summary
The Senior Principal Application Developer provides information technology services to SRP. A solution architect that designs, engineers, and develops software using IT and OT platforms such as GIS, dSCADA, DERMS and other technologies. This position leads discussions by gathering requirements from multiple business entities. High engagement with multiple teams in providing technical leadership to meet complex business problems. Lead development efforts for the proposed IT solutions.
What You'll Do
- Software Development, Database Administration, Data Warehouse Analysis, Systems Programming, Network Engineering, Data Storage, or Unified Communications & Messaging that require a significant knowledge of multiple IT functions
- Acts as solutions architect for information and operation technology solutions
- Plans and develops the scope of projects which have an important effect on major organization programs
- Maintains liaison with individuals and units within or outside ITS with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters
- Acts as a project leader on projects of major scope and importance in order to ensure projects' technical and financial objectives are met
- Performs as a staff consultant for SRP in an IT specialty type of software or hardware or a program function in the application of advanced concepts, principles and processes
- Is recognized as an expert and advisor within the organization and has in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline and broad knowledge of other disciplines within the function.
- Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process, product or service improvements. Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business.
- Contributes to the development of functional strategy.
- Leads teams or projects with broad visibility to achieve milestones and objectives.
- Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of business requirements.
- Typically operates with broad latitude in a complex environment.
What It Takes To Succeed
Experience
A minimum of 14 years professional experience in related field plus professional recognition.
Education
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree plus an additional 36 graduate level college semester hours from an accredited institution in an area of specialty.Testing and Certifications

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week.
