Role Summary
The Hospital business is at the forefront of driving patient impact with its industry leading portfolio of > 200 sterile injectables and delivery platforms (AddVantage, NexJect etc.) including anti-infectives, chemotherapy, anesthetics and others critical medicines used in the Hospital care setting. With global revenue of >$3.7B, the US Sterile Injectable business accounts for >50% of the global Pfizer Hospital sterile injectable revenue.
This role works closely with the SI Pipeline Strategy, Search, Insights and Ideation Lead, and the SI Pipeline- Internal, and External, Search Leads to shape the overall SI Pipeline Strategy and develop well thought out Business Cases and supporting material for exploratory and early-stage SI Pipeline ideas.
This colleague will play a key role in supporting the development and ongoing refinement of the SI Pipeline Strategy while ensuring that strategic rigor and discipline is maintained once the forward strategy is shared with the broader pipeline organization.
This role will impact key new product developments over the next 3 to 5 years that will ensure our broad inline portfolio remains competitive and contemporary long into the future.
It will be essential that, forward pipeline addresses clear customer needs, our ambition is aligned with clear business needs, core capabilities and the broader enterprise investment appetite for the SI portfolio to ensure the foundation is laid for a productive pipeline that the cross functional team can execute against.
The individual must ensure that for each new program 1) unmet need or problem is well understood 2) the current standard of care is understood 3) the proposed target product profile is well defined and backed up with supporting evidence base and 4) has a 10 year forecast management can be confident in driving investment decisions.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs and Develops an insights engine that provides surround sound on the market, competitors, and trends in the global sterile injectables space
Maximizing the value of key product lines by implementing clear long-term strategy for the SI portfolio, including multi-generational product improvement roadmaps for new pipeline and marketed products
Responsible for identifying and initiating new programs
Plan strategy for new pipeline and global expansion products with the appropriate global and regional marketing counterparts
Works closely with sales and portfolio organizations in the US to generate customer inputs.
Runs analytics and delivers full financial P&Ls for funding requests
Leverage market research when appropriate.
Interacts with and influences a broad range of functions involved with the development and commercialization of SI products
Proactively communicates issues and challenges, and works to remove barriers to success
Ensures the interests of the sales and marketing organizations are represented in prospective programs
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree. Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience with product development and/or commercialization

- Understanding of working with R&D and Medical on development and pre-launch programs
- Understanding of commercial development, in line brand marketing, pricing and access as well as policy. Experience working in a multi-source environment preferred.
