Job Description
Uses a wide variety of light, medium, heavy motorized and construction equipment to maintain, repair and clean roads and grounds; uses equipment to haul concrete debris; digs water and utility lines; removes broken sewer lines, sidewalks and blacktop; loads and unloads materials from trucks; lifts heavy equipment onto buildings and trailers; installs light poles; installs pipe for sanitary sewers and storm drains; performs road maintenance activities; uses power tools; assists with masonry assignments including forming, pouring and finishing concrete pavers; hydro excavates and uses jet ruck to remove clogs and clean lines; assists with tree removal and hauling; performs snow removal duties; assists other FOD and university areas when needed; cleans and maintains work areas and equipment; attends meetings; assures properly completed documentation; provides a high level of customer service; communicates to customers, coworkers and supervision via written, electronic and verbal methods and devices; operates departmental vehicles; performs other duties as assigned. Works primarily first shift, but is subject to changes in shift, hours, days and/or location as operations dictate; may work overtime.

Required Qualifications:

Required: High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of safety practices; skilled in operation of medium and light construction equipment; ability to carry out oral and written instructions; ability to routinely lift up to 75 lbs. 200 hours of training in operation of medium and light equipment; 250 hours experience in concrete setup and finishing; valid driver license upon employment and Class A commercial driver license with tanker endorsement within the first 150 days of the probationary period; must pass federally required pre-employment drug test.

Strongly Desired: ability to operate concrete and mortar mixers; skilled in operation of heavy equipment.

Additional Information:

The targeted salary range for this position is $20.35-$25.44 per hour.
