Work Schedule:
For the 1st 6 months, the standard work schedule will be 1:00 pm to 12:00 am, Monday through Thursday.
Actual schedule may vary from time to time, depending on the needs at this site. This can impact days worked and hours worked.
After 6 months, this position is expected to transition to a 1st shift 4x10 schedule.
Description:
Responsible for depot-level modification, upgrade, & test of aircraft sub-systems, ensuring airworthiness. Duties include, but are not limited to, inspecting, testing, modifying, and repairing avionic as well as other electrical systems/sub-systems. Examples include radar, radio, navigation, and aircraft power systems/sub-systems.
What you will be responsible for:
- Modifies, upgrades, inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs aircraft avionic and electrical systems, such as aircraft installed radar, radio, navigation, and power systems using hand tools and test equipment
- Inspects components of avionic and electrical systems and equipment for defects, such as loose connections and frayed wire, and for accuracy of assembly and installation
- Tests avionic and electrical systems under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness, using test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital meters and counters, and circuit analyzers
- Using hand tools, adjusts, repairs, and/or replaces defective components based on analysis of test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents
- When required, calibrates installed, modified, or repaired systems and/or equipment to prescribed specifications
- When required, operates ground servicing equipment to operationally test, inspect, and verify functionality and air worthiness of avionic and other electrical systems
- When required, assist in fabricating wiring harnesses
- Accurately document all required U.S. Government and program forms and documents, including electronic records
- Must effectively interact with program and customer representatives as well as on-site business or military representatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
What you will need to be successful in this role:
- Must meet one of the following requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.
- An Associate's degree plus 4 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.
- High School Diploma plus 8 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.
- F-16 experience is strongly preferred, but other fighter jet experience may be considered.
- At least a 7 Skill Level or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- 5th generation aircraft experience is a plus.
- Microsoft Office Suite skills are preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required.
