Join the Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS), a supportive, multidisciplinary team within Community, Mental Health and Wellbeing. CHaPS delivers early intervention services to parents and infants aged 0–4, working collaboratively to promote healthy development, strengthen family functioning, and support mental health and wellbeing. As an Allied Health Professional with CHaPS, you will provide therapeutic psychological or social work support to parents and infants aged 0–4 years. Working within a multidisciplinary early intervention framework, you will deliver evidence based assessments and interventions that strengthen family wellbeing, promote healthy development, and support parents through the challenges of early childhood. You will collaborate closely with colleagues, families and community providers to ensure coordinated, high quality care. In this role you will:- Provide therapeutic Psychological or Social Work services to families with children under 5 years of age within a primary health care framework in accordance with the philosophy of CHaPS, Agency policy, legal requirements, and the Code of Ethics of the appropriate professional body (e.g., Australian Psychological Society or Australian Association of Social Workers)
- Utilise evidence-based and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
- Provide evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions to clients of CHaPS and their families.
You will need:
- Minimum of two years’ postgraduate employment as a Psychologist or Social Worker, including working with parents, children and families within an early intervention, primary health or perinatal and infant mental health framework.
- Experience in the assessment, intervention and management of clients and their families affected by complex psychosocial needs, including issues relating to parenting, mental health, family violence or history of trauma.
- Experience in the theoretical and practical application of a range of individual and group therapeutic interventions specific to the client group of parents, children and families, with the ability to acquire further expertise into the future.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time and part time, day worker positions, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible.

Location: North West, Tasmania
Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Agreement Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022
