Job Description
Responsible for managing the conception, definition, and development of costume design, masks, and makeup scope of assigned Entertainment projects of various scale, including marquee events, new character development, design intent changes of existing offerings, and special projects.
- Acts as Responsible Individual for all costuming, masks, and makeup scopes for assigned projects, imbedding support in the Project team.
- Working with the Show Director and/or Creative Director, manages the costumes, masks, and makeup design process; Sources/Assigns design support or produces designs internally to achieve creative intent.
- Consults on design intent changes to existing costume offerings, supporting R+D efforts and operational design considerations.
- Manages the creation of consistent design packages to relay design details to internal project teams for review/approval and to vendors for bidding and construction.
- Responsible for the creation, tracking, and reconciliation of costume, mask, and makeup budgeting - Creates cost projections and reconciles final costs following fabrication.
- Works with IP holders as needed on proper usage of brand, ensuring adherence to all style guides and specific IP requests.
- Presents designs to project team and Senior Management to communicate vision and implementation of elements.
- Oversees multiple assigned Production Costumers to track fabrication of costumes through production process for each assigned project.
- Monitors fabrication progress, assisting in identifying and resolving any unexpected conditions and/or discrepancies between the fabrication and design intent.
- Continually performs quality checks for ongoing creative maintenance of elements . Manages project team support staff, designers, and vendors in all phases of production .
- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in theatrical or entertainment design or production.
- Solid budgeting and estimation experience of costuming, masks, and makeup scopes.
- Experience working with fabrication shops (general and specialty) to propel design intent forward to realization.
- Solid background in managing design of projects from concept to completion.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, with confidence to multi-task and delegate as required.
- Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and nights as required.
