Job Description

Summary: This position is responsible for creating, editing, and publishing forms and content for print and digital documents and agency websites. This position is also responsible for creating, editing, and presenting retirement education programs for members and employers. These programs include in-person seminars for both small and large groups, online webinars, and educational media. All materials, content, and presentations are intended to be inclusive, accessible, fresh, engaging, and easy to follow for a diverse audience.

 

Essential Functions: The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

 

Publications and Forms

  • Create, edit, and update print and online publications which include forms, email campaigns, newsletters, letters and statements, brochures, flyers, and booklets.

  • Partner with agency staff to review content for consistency with agency best practices.

  • Create and execute mail merge documents for personalized letters and statements.

  • Adhere to accepted standards to ensure all content is accessible and inclusive to all audiences.

  • Work with graphic designers to layout content and create professional and accessible designs.

  • Coordinate publication printing and mailing with third parties.

 

Retirement Education Programs

  • Develop and present education programs aimed at helping members achieve a secure and lasting retirement.

  • Create and edit visual presentations, scripts, printed material, and other media for education programs with inclusivity and accessibility in mind.

  • Travel to locations across the state, set up equipment, and deliver in-person classes.

  • Present education webinars on camera while sharing an interactive presentation.

  • Moderate webinars by managing the flow of attendees, responding to chats, and running behind-the-scenes functions.

  • Engage members in person, by email and phone to answer questions and follow-up on issues.

  • Assist with seminar and other special event logistics, as needed, including scheduling locations, providing means for registration and confirmations, maintaining attendee database, and making other necessary arrangements.

 

Public and Internal Websites

  • Write and edit content and news stories.

  • Update web pages using the content management system (CMS) and html editor.

  • Maintain and organize the online media library to keep files current.

  • Conduct online research to identify and curate content.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to edit written content and documents for spelling, grammar, clarity, tone, and a visually appealing layout.

  • Ability to convey technical information in an easy-to-understand way.

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Teams, or other video communications software.

  • Ability to manage multiple software applications while facilitating a webinar.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions.

  • Knowledge of financial terms relevant to retirement programs.

  • Knowledge and applicability of federal and state laws regarding retirement programs.

 

Education and Experience

  • Four years of experience in communication, training, or related fields.

  • Experience in writing content and publication creation.

  • Experience in public speaking in-person and presenting by video.

  • Experience using WordPress, or other CMS, and Adobe Acrobat.
