A Day in the Life
We are currently looking for a Senior Inventory Accounting and Control Manager to work at our site in Memphis, Tennessee and provide leadership to the North American Distribution Inventory team.In this role, you will be responsible for oversight of daily inventory operations for Medtronic distribution locations and 3PL’s. The Senior Inventory Manager is a critical liaison and engages with multiple inter-departmental functions including but not limited to sales, quality, regulatory, marketing, supply chain, manufacturing, finance and corporate logistics. Through continuous efforts and use of lean tools, the Senior Manager partners with onsite team to drive the distribution process to increasingly better performance by championing quality and cost down initiatives. You will, oversee Inventory operations staff in efficiently fulfilling customer’s needs through process management and continuous improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Drive the distribution Inventory process controls and continuous improvement processes to ensure customer service levels are met
- Ensure operational excellence in all inventory related transactions including the efficient operations of the warehouse management system and related equipment and systems
- Ensure distribution quality systems compliance is met at all times
- Support supply chain continuous improvement initiatives for customer service and reduce cost of operation
- Define, administer and measure the cycle counting process used in all Distribution Centers and Third-Party Logistics partnerships
- Monitor inventory controls, aging, cycle counts, SOGL
- Develop and maintain monthly reporting processes related to Distribution Inventory Control measurements
- Support all internal and external audits related to Quality systems and SOX controls
- Work hand in hand with various stakeholders
- Monitor transactions between legacy systems and #PL systems to ensure accuracy and completion of all inventory related processes
- Manage and administer physical inventory counts where required
- Ensure ongoing operations, processes and programs are completed on schedule and within budget
- Recommend and implement new technologies, quality standards, and procedures to impact vision, including lean sigma and 6S principles
- Work cross functionally with peers to develop consistent practices; performance and cost management
- Utilize quality and performance metrics to ensure regulatory compliance
- Ensure proper financial reporting from 3PL’s as related to inventory and financial processes
- Maintain proper staffing levels and provide sound people management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years' relevant experience, or
- Advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience
- Minimum of 5 years leadership experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Lean distribution experience
- Experience in an FDA/Medical Device environment
- Systems knowledge: WMS, Microsoft applications, AS400 (i.e., JDE, SAP), SAP, E1 experience
- Ability to supervise and coach timely and effectively
- Experienced in inventory management/accuracy/capability
- Ability to effectively develop subordinates through special training, coaching and exposure to new opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting
