POSITION:
The primary responsibility of the full time Elementary Instructional Coach is to provide individualized, job embedded professional development for upper elementary teachers, focused on high quality, research-based literacy instruction. The coach will have a deep understanding of The Common Core State Standards, their shifts and the Livonia Public Schools Priority Standards. The coach will utilize effective instructional practices and assessment data to support teachers with long-range and short-term planning in meeting the literacy learning needs of all students. This position will report to the Elementary Curriculum Coordinator, and work collaboratively with the Chief Academic Officer, Academic Services Department, the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction and Elementary Programs, and Elementary Principals. The Elementary Instructional Coaches will remain as part of the LEA.
DISTRICT OVERVIEW
Livonia Public Schools employs approximately 1,800 staff members, serving approximately 13,100 students pre-K � post secondary. There are 15 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 3 high schools, 1 career technical center, 1 early childhood center and 1 vocational and transition center in the School District. The annual budget for Livonia Public Schools is $180 million, with a state funding of $10,000 per pupil.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
