Role Overview:
The Plant Operator is responsible for supporting day-to-day plant and warehouse operations, including material handling, equipment operation, facility upkeep, and basic maintenance support. This role is hands-on and physical, requiring strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. The Plant Operator works in a fast-paced environment and interacts with a diverse group of customers and coworkers.
A Sample of What You’ll Do in This Role:
Assist with the movement of bulk fertilizer on trucks and railcars.
Stock, retrieve, and stage packaged and bulk containers for processing and shipping.
Operate material-handling and facility equipment such as forklifts, front-end loaders, and railcar movers, as required.
Support repair, maintenance, and safety efforts for facility equipment by identifying issues and reporting them promptly to management.
Work closely with the Processing team to ensure accurate and effective product formulations.
Maintain facility cleanliness and organization through active housekeeping practices.
Secure the facility at the end of each workday.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures.
Attend required training sessions and safety meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned to support plant and warehouse operations.
What You Bring to the Role:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Strong mechanical ability and aptitude.
Willingness to actively engage in safety and housekeeping practices.
Ability to operate industrial equipment (e.g., forklift, front-end loader, railcar mover), or willingness to learn.
Ability to frequently climb ladders, work at heights, and lift or move up to 100 lbs.
Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled, often dusty environment.
Good math, organizational, and prioritization skills.
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Willingness to work overtime hours during busy seasons.

Compensation and Benefits:
The base compensation for this position ranges from $21.44 to $24.52 per hour. Please note that wages may vary depending on skills and experience.
