Senior Analyst, Global Indirect Tax

We are currently looking for a Senior Global Indirect Tax Analyst who will play a key role in creating value added solutions and delivering process improvements for the Global Tax Function at Nike. As a Senior Analyst, you will be at the forefront of our Global Tax initiatives and engage across all domestic (sales/use, gross receipts, property, commercial rent taxes) and international (VAT/GST) indirect tax activities.
To be successful in this role, we need someone who can work both collaboratively and independently, applying your strong analytical skills to deliver results and financial insights in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
In this role, you will engage across all Global Indirect Tax activities including audit and controversy; design and deliver tax solutions for special projects and business initiatives; outsourced indirect tax compliance operations; and accounting tasks and tax expense forecasting. Critical support will be provided in:
- Using technology solutions (OneSource, SAP, Power BI, and other tax research tools) to help drive compliance with tax laws and process improvements
- Identifying/assessing areas of concern, assisting with related remediation and supporting recovery of prior tax overpayments/under recoveries and work to minimize future tax expenses
- Supporting the centralization and continuous enhancement of indirect tax operations, technology implementations and upgrades, and the execution plan for Consumer Direct Acceleration initiatives
- Supporting the implementation, documentation, and maintenance of Nike policies and procedures for indirect tax processes
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH
As a part of the Global Indirect Tax team at WHQ, you will collaborate within and across the Global Tax, Finance and Technology functions and engage with various business partners across the Nike business. You will also work closely with external advisors and assist with responding to Tax Authority inquires and audits.
WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industry or tax consultancy positions working in indirect taxes. Exposure to sales tax and VAT/GST is a plus
- Advanced computer skills and experience with applications such as Alteryx, SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI is strongly preferred
- Ability to complete legal research, apply interpretations to relevant facts and communicate potential implications in a clear and concise manner
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills; and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate status, issues/risks, and opportunities with leadership
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented self-starter with ability to engage in, prioritize, and perform multiple ongoing tasks
