Position Title: Head of Business Resilience
The Head of Business Resilience (BR) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's capacity to absorb stress, rebound critical business functions, and thrive amidst evolving circumstances. Business Resilience encompasses the strategic framework for fortifying the company against major risks while enabling effective responses that safeguard patient and stakeholder interests, uphold the company's reputation, brand, and value-generating activities. Align with security capabilities for efficiency, crisis management and operations.
This position will have global responsibilities and lead a team of 5 professionals and report directly to the Vice President of Corporate Security.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership, execute decisive actions, and cultivate a results-oriented culture to enhance the company's resilience in the face of large-scale disruptions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Interface directly with the CEO, Leadership Team, and key functional heads to articulate the business resilience response to various risks including geopolitical and continuity threats.
- Global Resilience Strategy: Spearhead the development and implementation of the company's resilience strategy, ensuring seamless integration and collaboration across Business Continuity Management (BCM) and corporate risk partners.
- Crisis Management: Lead confidently through significant crisis events, overseeing initial event identification, crisis response, continuity planning, and recovery efforts.
- Capability Development: Provide oversight, support, and mentorship to BCM Program Management Office (PMO), Emerging Risk Resilience Capability (ERRC), and Critical Event Response Team (CERT) capability leads to ensure superior service delivery, continuous improvement, and fiscal accountability.
- Risk Management: Review risk assessments, identify control gaps, and recommend remediation plans to executive management, fostering a proactive risk management culture.
- Operational Excellence: Direct and optimize work processes, aligning activities with enterprise-wide business objectives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster strong partnerships with government agencies, private intelligence consultants, and internal stakeholders to stay abreast of emerging threats and regulatory requirements.
- Framework Adoption: Drive the adoption and maintenance of the business resilience risk management framework, promoting consistency, appropriate implementation, and ongoing refinement.
- Corporate Security Expertise: Serve as Corporate Security leader and have security expertise to drive and guide through overall crisis events, duty of care issues and other related security matters.
- Talent Development: Utilize personal expertise to attract top talent, develop team members, promote diversity, and cultivate high-performing teams.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience spanning 15 years in proactive risk management, program leadership, and crisis management. Demonstrated leadership in global security matters.
- Strategic Thinking: Possess a strategic mindset with an enterprise-wide perspective to navigate complex challenges and provide effective guidance.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with a knack for quick learning and adaptation to changing circumstances.
- Decision Making: Exhibit superior critical thinking skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to make timely decisions under pressure.
