Job Description
The AI and Data Governance Lead is responsible for building, operationalizing, and coordinating the enterprise AI and data governance program. This role establishes the governance infrastructure, operational processes, and steward network that enable the organization to manage AI initiatives and data assets responsibly, ethically, and in alignment with business objectives. This role empowers business units to fulfill their governance responsibilities by providing frameworks, tooling, training, and coordination. Data and AI owners remain embedded in business functions; the Governance Lead enables enterprise-wide visibility, consistency, and accountability. Key ResponsibilitiesSteward Network Development and Enablement
- Identify, recruit, and onboard data stewards and AI stewards across business functions, ensuring coverage of all critical data domains and AI initiatives
- Design and deliver steward training programs covering governance principles, platform usage (Dataiku Govern, DataHub), and operational workflows
- Establish clear steward role definitions, time commitments, and accountability expectations in partnership with business function leaders
- Build a steward community of practice through regular forums, office hours, and knowledge sharing sessions
- Maintain steward registry and succession planning to ensure continuity as roles change
AI Governance Operations
- Administer and configure Dataiku Govern including model registry, bundle registry, LLM registry, and governance workflows
- Operationalize AI project intake, risk and value assessment matrices, and sign-off workflows for AI initiatives
- Coordinate AI project reviews with business sponsors, compliance, legal, and technical stakeholders
- Monitor model drift, performance degradation, and fairness metrics; coordinate remediation with AI owners
- Maintain AI documentation standards including model cards, risk assessments, and compliance artifacts
Data Governance Operations
- Administer DataHub for enterprise metadata management, data cataloging, and lineage tracking
- Manage Azure data governance resources including Purview integrations, access controls, and classification policies
- Operationalize the data quality continuous improvement program including measurement, monitoring, and issue resolution workflows
- Coordinate data certification processes for enterprise KPIs and certified data products
- Facilitate data issue triage, escalation paths, and cross-functional resolution
Governance Council and Process Management
- Organize and facilitate AI and Data Governance Council meetings including agenda development, materials preparation, and decision tracking
- Develop and maintain governance policies, standards, and procedures for AI development, data management, and information lifecycle
- Establish governance metrics and dashboards to measure program effectiveness and steward engagement
