Barrick Tax Analyst

We are looking for a Tax Analyst at our Salt Lake City Office. The successful candidate will work closely with the Nevada Gold Mines LLC Tax Director (“Tax Director”) and Barrick Tax Managers (“Tax Managers”) in being responsible for assisting the preparation and timely filing of all required U.S. and state income tax returns for Nevada Gold Mines LLC. The Tax Analyst will also rotate throughout the compliance cycle with various calculations and components of the tax return cycle to gain a deeper multi-disciplinary exposure for growth opportunities. The Tax Analyst will provide support to the team and will work closely with the Tax Director and the U.S. Tax Department Team in Salt Lake City to promote compliance, stability, and teamwork. Ensure all programs, personal actions and approaches support Barrick’s goals for safety and sustainability. Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and timely filing of all required U.S. and state income tax returns for Nevada Gold Mines LLC and other Barrick entities.
• Work closely with the Tax Director and Tax Managers to leverage technology in addition to automation capabilities of tax compliance and tax provision processes.
• Work closely with the Tax Director in providing effective, efficient, and timely business tax services to Nevada Gold Mines LLC management and team members.
• Work closely with the Tax Director in the areas of property tax, production taxes, payroll tax, sales and use tax, and other annual financial reporting obligations and other periodic non-tax filings for Nevada Gold Mines LLC and other Barrick entities.
• Requires occasional travel to Elko and Henderson, Nevada, as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting or taxation with desire to begin a career in tax.
• Some areas of study in corporate or partnership tax is preferred.
• Eligible to sit for the CPA exam or have a CPA license.
• High attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to work well in team environment.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
