WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Fors Marsh’s Communication Campaign Research and Evaluation (CCR&E) practice area is seeking an analyst to join our Data Strategy / Audience Analytics (DS/AA) Division. This position will contribute to multiple communication campaigns and data analysis projects including audience targeting and campaign optimization. This position will support campaign segmentation efforts by leveraging analytic techniques to identify, understand, and track target audiences. The researcher will closely coordinate with the project team to ensure segmentation efforts meet campaign needs and objectives.
Responsibilities include:
- Using research and data to support a team of communication strategists, data scientists, and statisticians with communications planning
- Analyzing data from multiple sources to identify patterns, insights and actionable recommendations. Data can include advertising performance data, segmentation datasets, government databases, Census Bureau data, and primary survey data, with a heavy focus on geographic-level data
- Interpreting complex data to identify patterns and actionable insights
- Preparing reports, presentation decks, and other internal and external communications summarizing analytics data and implications for campaign strategy, including quality control reviews in support of team efforts
- Tailoring materials for different levels of audience-- both technical and non-technical
- Regularly interfacing with campaign teams to represent findings and discuss potential implications
- Working closely with the project team on a day-to-day basis and working under tight deadlines to fulfill client requests
- Communicating effectively and professionally with stakeholders with varying ranges of research knowledge and experience
- Anticipating potential barriers to project completion, proposing solutions to team leadership
- Performing Quality Assurance (QA) checks on datasets and data analyses
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social science, data science, public health, statistics, marketing, economics or related field
- Experience and interest in at least one of the following statistical analysis packages: R, Stata, or Python
- Experience working with large, complex, and nuanced datasets – and generating insights and recommendations from them
- Experience communicating data analysis, insights, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
- Superior verbal and written communications skills
- Curiosity and a desire to learn
- Applicants may be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information
- US work eligibility required for this position due to our federal contract requirement
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with audience segmentation and proficiency in commercial segmentation subscription data (e.g., MRI-Simmons, Claritas PRIZM, ESRI Tapestry)
- Experience in SQL
- GIS experience
- Knowledge of marketing metrics, marketing principles and terminology
- Experience in applied research as part of a government contract
- Experience working with government agencies such as FDA, CDC, CPSC, or HHS
- Comfort working on multiple projects simultaneously, often with changing priorities and tight timelines
