Part-Time Lab Researcher - Geiger Lab

Salary/Position Classification

• $15.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
• 15 hours per week
• 100% Remote Work Availability: No
• Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

Assist Dr. Geiger's lab in ongoing research and lab operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist graduate students with various research projects
• Manage inventory and place order for lab supplies within the Jaggaer system
• Keep lab stocked with commonly used items
• Place orders for items needed by the graduate student
• Contact vendors with questions regarding availability and fulfillment
• Perform general housekeeping of the laboratory and operations of the laboratory equipment, such as centrifuge, flow cytometer, incubators, and water bath
• Prepare stains, reagents, drugs, and buffer
• Assist graduate student with various procedures, consisting of protein quantification; western blot; flow cytometry; spectrophotometry; confocal microscopy; cell culture; cell lysate Fill and autoclave pipet tip boxes as well as autoclave water for common use

Minimum Requirements

• Experience in a laboratory setting through work or education experience
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
