Entry-Level C++ Backend Services Engineer

VES, LLC is currently seeking a highly motivated recent college graduate for an Entry-Level C++ Backend Services Engineer position supporting our efforts implementing Ground Combat Systems' Common Infrastructure Architecture (GCIA) components in Next Generation Combat Vehicles. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work on mission-critical software that supports the U.S. Army's ground combat platforms. You'll be part of a talented engineering team designing and implementing backend services in Linux-based environments, contributing to the next generation of defense technology.

General Job Duties:

• Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of C++ backend services for GCIA software.
• Contribute to the development of high-performance and reliable applications on Linux systems.
• Work with senior engineers to analyze requirements and develop software solutions.
• Implement unit tests and performance optimizations
• Utilize debugging tools to troubleshoot development issues
• Participate in code reviews and collaborative development within an agile team.
• Support integration and validation of software with ground combat systems.

Desired Requirements:

• Proficiency in C++ and a firm understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Proficient working with Linux environments and relevant system programming concepts.
• Familiarity with networking, multithreading, or IPC mechanisms (preferred but not required).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Passion for defense technology and software engineering.
• Internship or academic project experience related to real-time or embedded systems is a plus.
• Security clearance eligibility (preferred but not required at entry level).

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Internship, research project, or coursework with C++ backend development is a plus.
