Principal Software Engineer, Loyalty & Rewards

The role is for the Loyalty & Rewards team responsible for improving the loyalty program in terms of user penetration, order frequency, and more. The Loyalty program has been available for Gopuff customers for a few years and is doing extremely well. It is currently a company priority to make the program lucrative to make it a leader in the industry and help with overall Gopuff acquisition & retention play. It involves running experiments, making data informed decisions, enabling our business partners in the CRM and paid marketing space.

Responsibilities

• Full stack web/mobile application and services development with a variety of coding languages
• Work closely with our PM and design teams to define feature specifications and build products
• Work closely with operations and infrastructure to build and scale back-end services
• Build report interfaces and data feeds
• Establish self as an owner of a particular component, feature, or system with expert end-to-end understanding
• Successfully completes projects at large scope while maintaining a consistently high level of productivity
• Successfully lead projects through the complete software development experience: plan, design, code, test, deploy, measure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 8+ years of industry experience
• 8+ years of relevant experience building large-scale applications or similar experience
• Experience as an owner of a particular component, feature, or system
• Experience completing projects at large scope
• Experience working independently and delivering business outcomes for ambiguous projects and features across multiple partner teams
• Experience driving engineering and operational excellence
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional partners and teams
• Experience mentoring junior engineers
• Experience up-leveling team throughput and efficiency

Gopuff pays employees based on market pricing and pay may vary depending on your location. The salary range below reflects what we’d reasonably expect to pay candidates. A candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
