We are currently interviewing for SICU Surgical Registered Nurses with at least 2 year(s) of experience. We have 21 private rooms in our newly remodeled SICU Unit that sees a large variety of patients and conditions from the local community, national and international patients. Located in the heart of Milwaukee, AAH St Lukes Medical Center is the largest hospital in Wisconsin and the only hospital in Wisconsin with 24/7 on-site heart-care team. A nationally recognized health care provider, we offer a wide range of medical specialties in a culturally affirming and compassionate way to help people live well. We are a 938-bed hospital offering a wide range of services in emergency, surgery, cardiovascular, diagnostic, organ transplant and Women's Health Care.
This unit has been a highly sought-after unit to work in due to the complexity and acuity of our patients. The variety of patient surgical procedures is great for experience and learning. We have a solid orientation plan for new grads that focuses on their unique needs while starting their careers in a highly complex unit.
The Surgical ICU is a 21-bed unit that cares for a broad spectrum of high acuity patients, including abdominal transplant, general abdominal surgery, ENT surgery, and vascular surgery. Our nurses partner closely with a highly collaborative group of physicians and nurse practitioners, and hone a wide range of skills, including complex dressing changes, and extracorporeal therapies like CRRT and MARS
