Functional Area: Treasurer’s OfficeThe Treasurer’s Office Business Support Analyst performs professional duties related to the analysis, development, maintenance and administration of property tax and payment acceptance related computer hardware and software systems to meet business needs. Incumbents may perform any of the following functions: assists with routine processes; maintains, configures and monitors hardware and software solutions; consults with departmental customers to identify and analyze business functions that can be improved by the implementation of new hardware and software solutions; translates business requirements into system deployments; performs professional-level systems maintenance and customer support duties; may serve as a liaison over routine systems-related projects; and performs other related duties as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
FUNCTIONAL AREA: TREASURER
1. Analyze plans, determine requirements, design, build, customize, test, implement, maintain, and/or enhance a variety of financial and property tax software systems.
2. Program with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server, including building and maintaining SQL queries, creating SQL stored procedures, or developing SQL extract scripts to populate data warehouse and report maintenance and creation.
3. Serve as main client interface on all aspects of application development projects; for third-party software, coordinate project activities with vendors; maintain effective communications with users regarding vendor activities, problems, status, timelines, and other details; ensure compliance with County specifications and drive resolution of identified software bugs and deficiencies.
4. Interact with clients to analyze their business requirements and recommend technology solutions; identify and map business processes; gather user requirements.
5. Perform various system quality assurance activities; test, troubleshoot, and debug system issues using appropriate technology; prepare and execute testing plans to validate functionality and resolve issues.
6. Analyze and evaluate work methods, design, implement, and document "best practices" and procedures for the effective utilization of software to perform duties.
7. Configure and maintain countywide payment systems and related integrations including merchant processor, and online integrations.
8. Create and execute routine processes to ensure accuracy of financial data and compliance with laws and regulations.
9. Administer and monitor appropriate user access to related software systems.
10. Provide professional systems support to users of financial and property tax applications including investigating, analyzing, and resolving system problems.
11. Conduct training pertaining to the use of new applications or systems for users and/or other information technology staff.
12. May be assigned special projects related to the specific functions within the department.
13. Incumbent(s) in this classification will handle sensitive and/or confidential records, that require maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
