OnsiteAs a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development of cutting-edge aircraft seating solutions. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design, analyze, and implement solutions that meet rigorous regulations and customer expectations. Your expertise will help shape the future of passenger experience in aviation.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the certification of aircraft seating systems and modifications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with mechanical, flammability, and electrical certification engineering teams to define certification requirements.
- Conduct system-level requirements analysis, verification, and validation to ensure performance, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation within the team.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and contribute to project planning and execution.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes that impact aircraft seating systems.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
Qualifications we Prefer:
- Experience with FAA-managed PMA and STC projects.
- Experience working within an FAA ODA.
- Agile tools and methods (Scrum, Jira, Agile Estimating and Planning).
- Scripting/programming knowledge (Python, VBA, etc.).
- Experience with Siemens Teamcenter and NX (Unigraphics).
- Strong understanding of aircraft seating systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Project management experience.
- Passion for innovation and a desire to make a tangible impact in the aviation industry.
