Position Details

The Department of Nursing in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa has an opening for a full-time, renewable, non-tenure track clinical faculty position at the Assistant Teaching Professor level starting January 2026.

Current APRN license and ANNC or AANPCB certification as a FNP or AGPCNP Nurse Practitioner is required.

The department is interested in nurse practitioner faculty candidates who have an interest in teaching adult/older adult healthcare management and practicums, advanced pathophysiology, pharmacology, and health assessment, skills and/or practice management.

The successful candidate is expected to have a commitment to nursing education. Previous clinical and/precepting experience with nurse practitioner students is required. Experience with student evaluation, assessment and mentoring is desired. Teaching responsibilities consist of twenty-seven (27) credit hours per academic year. Faculty have one day per week scheduled for clinical practice if desired. This nine-month position reports to the College Dean, and the Director/ Chair of Department of Nursing.

The successful candidate will have:

1. Minimum of MSN Degree required.

2. National certification as AGNP-PC or FNP is required.

3. Florida APRN licensure required.

4. Evidence of teaching experience in an academic setting is preferred.

5. Two (2) years or more of clinical practice as an APRN is required.
