Position Purpose:
The Registered Nurse – Family Medicine delivers compassionate, comprehensive care in a busy outpatient setting serving patients of all ages. Responsibilities include triaging patient concerns, administering medications and vaccines, performing procedures such as EKGs and wound care, and providing patient education and follow-up support. Collaborates closely with providers and care teams to ensure continuity of care and a seamless patient experience. Ideal for a proactive, team-oriented nurse who enjoys building long-term relationships across generations.
What you will do:
- Contributes to overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively.
- Communicates effectively (written and verbal) with colleagues, patients and family members.
- Educate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided.
- Understanding of computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited R.N. program.
- Licensure: Current Connecticut R.N. license required; CPR required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification preferred.
- Experience: Competent in a Windows-based computer system. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Multi-tasking, problem solving and decision-making skills required. Ability to organize, analyze and interpret clinical data. High level of dependability and accuracy required.
- Flexibility to meet the coverage needs of the department.
- Ability to pass drug screenings and background checks.
