Genomics Data Scientist - Hybrid

We are seeking a Genomics Data Scientist to join Q² Solutions, IQVIA’s laboratory business in Durham, NC as a Hybrid position.

As a Genomics Data Scientist, you will assist in managing project data delivery timelines, formatting of custom delivery files, verification of regulated study data, supporting multiple delivery methods and aiding in the development of custom formatting software (e.g., Tableau, Python, etc.). You will be assisting in/leading the development of complex Python/SQL queries to support genomics data activities and helping to develop automation scripting and Application Program Interfaces (APIs) to support project streamlining as the team continues to develop its practices around data standardization and automation.

What you’ll be doing:

• Performing of quality control reviews, generation, and review of data transfer documents (e.g., DTSs, DIAs, DTAs, etc.), reviewing of work instructions, review of Standard Operating Procedures, as well as other critical documents.
• Leading and managing the delivery of projects through full data management lifecycle, including setup, delivery, and reconciliation. 
• Providing technical expertise in data management practices and abilities through communication with clients, scientific teams, data managers, and other internal and external teams.
• Attending customer meetings, serving as a representative of Data Management and its abilities.
• Analyzing data using various data-work tools (e.g., Tableau, Python, SQL, etc.)
• Building dashboards to showcase analysis.
• Presenting and demonstrating dashboards and other Tableau Suite capabilities as local levels, as well as to senior and executive leadership.
• Acting independently with limited guidance to support needs of organization relating to data management and analytics.

What We Are Looking For:

• Master’s degree in Clinical, Biological Sciences, Quantitative Studies, or related field required, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience in working with genomics data and clinical data.
• Expert-level Python and SQL user, familiar with Tableau Suite of products (Tableau Prep and Tableau Desktop), Application Programming Interfaces, and Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence algorithms.
• Proficiency in advanced multivariate techniques of analysis (e.g., Regression modeling, predictive analytics, etc.)

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role:

• Working within regulatory constraints, as well as be comfortable with a high degree of uncertainty, rapid timelines, and balancing multiple projects of both short and long-term outcomes.
• Possess a high level of attention to detail, be comfortable in a client-facing role, be proactive at gathering information across teams, and establish and maintain working relationship.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements as dictated by FDA, ICH, ISO, HL7, CFR, Part 11, CAP/CLIA and GCP.
• Understanding of medical, clinical research, and Lab Management processes and terminology.
