About the role

The Intelligence Senior Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for leading efforts to prevent, monitor and respond to information/data breaches and cyber-attacks. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the execution of Information Security directives and activities in alignment with Citi's data security policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply in-depth disciplinary knowledge to triage, process, analyze, intelligence alerts, reports, and briefings

  • Monitor and research cyber threats with a direct or indirect impact to the Citi brand

  • Assess cyber threat data and correlate with existing understanding of cyber threats impacting the Citi franchise

  • Ascertain the impact of an attack and develop threat trends to assess their overall impact and inform senior decision makers

  • Engage in liaison activities with intelligence communities, law enforcement, industry partners, peer financial institutions, and information sharing communities

  • Complete the daily operational components of the intelligence mission

  • Assume informal/formal mentor role within teams and assist with the coaching and training of new team members

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience

  • Certifications or willingness to earn within 12 months of joining

  • Working knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Advanced Persistent Threat, Third Party Risks/Threats, Cybercrime, Extremist Groups and Cyber Terrorists, Hacktivism, Distributed Denial of Service attacks, Fraud, Malware, Mobile Threats

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

  • Proven influencing and relationship management skills

  • Proven analytical skills


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Citi Security and Investigative Services (CSIS) is a full-service security and investigative team that protects the assets, integrity, and reputation of Citi and its clients. We accomplish this by offering in-house professional security services and independent investigations to stakeholders across all of Citi's businesses and regions, and through partnerships with other Citi business groups, law enforcement agencies, governments, and industry counterparts.

Based in New York, New York, this position reports to the CSIS Intelligence lead program manager for Protective Intelligence. The Protective Intelligence program is dedicated to protecting Citi executives, their digital privacy, and open source exposure. The Protective Intelligence senior analyst role will focus on producing high quality analysis to raise awareness of new and ongoing privacy issues, identifies existing risk exposure points, and quickly responding to threats.

The Protective Intelligence senior analyst is a global program role requiring expertise in open source intelligence activities; specifically in the use of analytics, link analysis, and predictive analytics.  A successful candidate is someone who has experience in:

  • Lead digital executive monitoring products for domestic and international business travel, collaborating with stakeholders to expand and improve strategies for reducing risks.

  • Open Source Intelligence, including experience collecting and analyzing publicly available information.

  • Extensive experience triaging, analyzing, and actioning real or potential security threats.

  • Demonstrated expertise of open source monitoring tools and capabilities.

  • Use advanced analysis techniques to identify and communicate emerging risks clearly, delivering detailed briefings to key leadership with a strong understanding.

  • Identify gaps in intelligence products and find new solutions, while overseeing monitoring for threats to executives and the company.

  • Manage projects with global teams, ensuring timely completion, and provide ongoing training and guidance for professional growth.
