Teacher, Physical Education, Elementary School (EX) (Current Opportunity) - St. Michael-St. Clement School Inc, Overlea MD

The Physical Education Teacher will provide grade school students a comprehensive academic and physical experience using the Archdiocesan and State of Maryland Physical Education curriculum. She/he is responsible for creating a learning environment that fosters, promotes, and develops an understanding of the relationship of healthy body function exercise, and athletics. 

Essential Functions

• Maintains high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teaching of the Catholic Church.
• Plans and implements instructional programs with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and State of Maryland Standards.
• Creates an instructional environment conducive to learning.
• Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development, in a timely manner.
• Teach physical fitness, individual and team sports, utilizing appropriate learning activities.
• Motivate each student to cultivate physical fitness, and appropriate social and emotional adjustment that discovers and develop talents of students in physical achievement.
• Communicates standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students and parents through email, phone calls, conferences, and electronic grade book.
• Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• MSDE Certification or the willingness to obtain certification is required.
• Classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Proficient in using a variety of technologies.

Range:  $31,000 - $35,000, Annualized
