About the role

Company Description

We are supporting our client, an accounting firm based in South Tampa, seeking a Manager of Accounting Services to grow with their team. 

Schedule:
This position is full time with additional hours required during peak times such as year end and during a client’s external audit.

Location: 
HybridThe primary office is in south Tampa with an office in St. Petersburg. Travel to various client locations within the Tampa Bay area as needed as well.

Job Description

  • Provide strategic, high level consultation to C-level stakeholders
  • Manage, supervise, train and develop senior and staff accountants
  • Perform all accounting functions including preparing financial statements, financial planning and analysis, forecasting, budgeting, month end close, cash flow forecasting, etc.
  • Drive process improvements by reconfiguring, automating and implementing new systems to streamline tasks
  • Research technical accounting issues and communicate them in a simple and  straightforward way
  • Communicating and meeting with existing and potential clients regarding their accounting needs
  • Managing internal resources within the firm

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field is required
  • CPA highly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience in audit, assurance or accounting consulting or minimum 10 years of experience in leadership accounting or financial role for small to midsize company
  • Management/team leadership experience
  • Strong accounting and finance knowledge and experience (month/year-end close, general ledger, financial systems, financial reporting, consolidations, reconciliations, cash flow modeling, etc.)
  • Advanced Excel and modeling skills (pivots, lookups, complex formulas, and macro capability)
  • Self-starter – candidate is expected to serve as the main point of contact with clients and maintain a solid client relationship without direct supervision
  • Highly organized - candidate is expected to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously and function effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to provide decisive decision making skills with limited information
  • Ability to learn new software programs quickly
