$26.00 - $32.00 Per Hour / Full Time Siena Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a Generations Healthcare facility located in Auburn, CA, is searching for a Behavioral Health Prevocational Coordinator to join our team. This is a wonderful opportunity to provide career and job training skills for conserved adults with moderate to severe mental illnesses in an inpatient residential program. This unique opportunity allows the Prevocational Coordinator the ability to educate residents on a variety of interviewing and workforce topics, including cultivating their skills and knowledge, preparing, and motivating them for the responsibilities and practice of work. Position Overview:The Behavioral Health Prevocational Coordinator provides prevocational skills, instruction, and engaging activities to conserved adults with moderate to severe mental illness including job skills training, job support, career planning, and consultation requiring vocational training to foster independence and confidence in job-related tasks. - Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree in psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field
- Previous experience working with children or adults with developmental disabilities and/or severe mental illness.
- Possesses a valid driver’s license with a clear and acceptable driving record (may need to drive and operate a facility provided van to transport residents to and from appointments or other outings).
- This position requires the successful completion of a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
- Maintains the prevocational training program, consistent with STP regulations, policies & procedures, and company philosophy.
- Establishes and maintains job placement opportunities for assigned residents in our Behavioral Health/Special Treatment Program
- Build strong relationships with residents and Rehab team to implement prevocational program.
- Responsible for managing, securing, and scheduling resident work training placements.
- Encourages residents to meet acceptable standards of work performance.
- Trains individuals in each aspect of the job and all skills necessary to perform the job; discusses and implements job modification with employers if necessary.
- Works with public and district transportation sources on coordination and scheduling of transporting to and from job sites.
- Conducts individual prevocational evaluations, prepares interpretations of those findings, and provides recommendations which will lead to meaningful job training experiences for the resident.
- Creates and implements engaging prevocational social functions such as simulated job fairs and career days.
- Establishes and maintains professional contacts with various businesses to develop and maintain volunteer opportunities for residents to learn essential job functions.
- Provides a comprehensive set of prevocational opportunities on behalf of residents who require vocational services.
- Able to manage and provide redirection of potential behaviors of residents in a safe and effective manner.
- Superior interpersonal skills, and behavior management skills.
- Experience in education and training in prevocational and job training areas.
