Role Overview: What You’ll Be Doing

This experienced Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the Company’s operational accounting processes and will report directly to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting.

Responsibilities

Your Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Support the cash management process including facilitating payments, providing daily balance updates to leadership and matching transactions within NetSuite
  • Prepare and record accurate and timely journal entries
  • Support the month- and quarter-end accounting close process including analysis of results, resolution of differences and communication of unusual variances
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations. 
  • Collaborate with finance team members as well as cross functional departments
  • Support the internal and external audit processes including preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.
  • Facilitate ad hoc data requests, deliverables and other controllership deadlines

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Table: Education & Certification Requirements

We’re looking for someone who has a unique mix of experience, skills, and passion for what we do:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a corporate or public accounting environment
  • Experience with other ERP systems, nice to have (e.g., Hyperion, SAP)
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn and contribute to a high-performing accounting and finance team
  • Proven ability to work independently, execute well and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented team player with a strong work ethic
  • Solid organizational and project management skills; demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to participate in meetings, either in person or virtually

  • Occasional travel required for meetings, conferences, or company events. This could involve the ability to sit on a plane or in a car for extended periods.
  • Ability to navigate different environments, such as visiting different offices or attending conferences

Communication:

  • Clear verbal communication skills for presentations, meetings, and discussions with stakeholders
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents and data

Occasional Lifting:

  • While unlikely, some positions may involve light lifting (e.g., transporting documents or materials) or moving items for presentations, but this is rarely a primary responsibility in this type of role

What We Offer: Salary Range & Benefits

At Wheels Up, we believe in fair compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The salary for this role ranges from $68,000 - $85,000, depending on a variety of factors. We don’t typically start individuals at the top of the salary range; your place within the range is based on what you bring to the table. Additionally, you may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program, which rewards individual and organizational performance.
