Senior DoDIN Cybersecurity Lead

Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior DoDIN Cybersecurity Lead to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.

 

The Department of Defense Information Network Cybersecurity Lead Develops, implements, and oversees Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN) cybersecurity strategies to protect USSOUTHCOM’s mission-critical systems and networks The Cybersecurity Lead is a senior subject matter expert responsible for overseeing threat management, incidents response, compliance with DoD cyber directives, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity posture.

 

Responsibilities:

• Leads the design and integration of security architectures, ensuring compliance with DoD policies, Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements, and cybersecurity best practices
• Manages enterprise security tools, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), firewalls, and endpoint security solutions
• Conducts advanced threat analysis, vulnerability management, and penetration testing to identify, assess, and remediate cybersecurity risks
• Directs incident response operations, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate cyber threats and enhance network resilience
• Executes lifecycle management of DoDIN cybersecurity infrastructure, aligning operations with mission objectives, risk mitigation strategies, and continuity of operations (COOP) requirements
• Conducts security audits, compliance assessments, and forensic investigations to strengthen defensive measures and improve cyber posture. Provides Tier 3 and Tier 4 cybersecurity leadership, mentoring junior analysts and engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance cyber defense capabilities. Develops cybersecurity governance frameworks, implements automation and analytics for threat intelligence, and ensures seamless integration of security solutions with enterprise IT operations. Supports joint and coalition cyber operations by delivering secure, resilient, and adaptive cybersecurity solutions across global mission environments

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity with three years in senior-level role
• In-depth understanding of DoDIN architecture, cybersecurity frameworks and DoD policies
• Experience managing cross-functional cybersecurity teams and projects

Desired:

• Master’s degree in related field
• Experience working in or with a IT Operations Center, NOSC, or DISA Field Office
• In depth knowledge with cybersecurity toolsets such as ACAS, HBSS, or Splunk
• Advanced knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and cloud security frameworks
• Knowledge of DoD Cyber Scorecard and Continuous Monitoring and Risk Scoring (CMRS)
• Certified Ethical Hacker
• ITIL v4 Foundations or higher

Clearance:

• TS/SCI clearance required

Certification:

• DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
• CompTIA Security+ CE
• CASP+ CE
• CISSP, CISM or equivalent
