The Marketing Department Design Internship is a 12-week paid internship to support design projects with a hybrid virtual and/or in-person format, averaging 20 hours per week.

This internship description intends to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this internship and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the requirements that may be asked during the internship.

WORK PERFORMED

INTERNSHIP DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design collateral and digital materials, including, but not limited to: billboards, print ads, brochures, flyers, digital ads, digital TV ads, web, social media, video assets and other advertising and promotional materials used to market St. Luke’s University Health Network.
  • Produce materials efficiently on desktop-design software, primarily Adobe Creative Cloud. Work carefully and precisely with attention to detail and complete projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain the integrity of St. Luke’s brand.
  • Stay current on health care creative marketing campaigns and trends.
  • As needed, work with senior/creative partner and/or promotional vendors to create or oversee artwork developed for giveaway items and promotional materials.
  • Assist art director for campaign and advertising photo and video shoots when needed.
  • Support design team goals by providing assistance, ideas and solutions.
  • Work independently to complete tasks by assigned deadlines.
  • Collaborate with a team to work on projects and group-based problem-solving.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

 Other related duties as assigned. 

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Requires sitting for up to 8 hours per day, 2 hours at a time.  Standing for up to 4 hours per day, 3 hours at a time.  Requires occasional fingering, handling, and twisting and turning while entering data into the computer.  Occasionally requires lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling objects weighing up to 25 pounds.  Occasionally requires reaching above shoulder level.  Must have the ability to hear as it relates to normal conversation, seeing as it relates to general, peripheral and near vision, visual monotony.

COMMUNICATIONS:

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills required for communicating with all levels throughout the organization and outside agencies.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Applicants should be enrolled or recent graduate of a 4-year bachelor’s program for Marketing, Advertising, Business, Journalism, Communications, Information Systems, Statistics, or related. 

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Customer service experience in any industry
  • Proficient with design software in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Professional, dependable, and independent worker with a strong work ethic
  • Proactive, creative problem-solver who faces challenges with a can-do mindset

WORK SCHEDULE:

Normally day shift with varying hours based on the needs of the department. 

May be required to attend Network events outside of normal business hours
